Don't lie to your soul!

Article cover image

Have you ever noticed how children see right through adults? And, have you noticed how adults don't like that, and then try to shut the kids down?

We are born with something in our soul that is uniquely perceptive, and that sees through people's pretenses. Unfortunately, we assign this to the "We are growing up" department. By implication, some things are not nice, and should be left behind. After all, who could bear the burden of their child announcing in public; "My mommy (or daddy) is lying to you!" Nope! That just would not work!

Fortunately, we have a solution, which is to tell the kid to shut up! In the process, we start to smother the child's connection with the soul's ability to detect truth, and embrace it as the right thing to do. The result, is that we are trained, (by those who 'love' us), to leave the best of ourselves behind. That is our loss.

It is to our loss, because it has wider implications. When we push our soul aside, we also push its benefits aside, because they come packaged together. When we push the truth that the soul has for us, aside - we also push its ability to perceive truth aside. The two are inseparable. When we sacrifice one, we sublimate the other. We become soul-impoverished.

What we fail to recognize, is that the soul also has enormous potential. For example it has incredible intelligence; but, this too is lost, because it is also part of the soul's package. It is a part of the package that most people have lost forever.

A Soulthentic person strives to reconnect with who we are, and what we are called to be. It is about living in a way that we are true to one's soul. Then, when we look in the mirror, we can actually like who we are, because who we are, is who we are meant to be - no conflict, and no dissonance. It is a great way to live!

This is one reason why we should never lie to our soul.
